Launched - updated Managing medicines for adults receiving social care in the community e-learning courses.

These courses have been updated and launched as brand new courses. They are based on guideline 67 from the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (or NICE) which was published in March 2017.

Managing medicines for adults receiving social care in the community: course 1

The course is broken down into seven modules including:

  1. NICE guideline 67
  2. Person centred medicines assessment 
  3. Record keeping and sharing information 
  4. Managing concerns about medicines 
  5. Ordering and supplying medicines 
  6. Transporting, storing and disposing of medicines 
  7. Covert administration 

Managing medicines for adults receiving social care in the community: course 2

The course is broken down into nine modules including:

  1. Medicines basics
  2. General principles of medicines administration
  3. 'When required’ and’ time sensitive’ medicines
  4. Administration of solid oral medicines
  5. Administration of liquids
  6. Administration of inhalers
  7. Application of topical products
  8. Administration of transdermal patches
  9. Administration of eye drops and ointments

Each course includes three practical case studies that will help apply learning to practice.
