Berkshire West CCG has invested in WebEx™ software for business use. The Medicines Optimisation team (MOT) has been delivering face to face training to GP practice staff for a number of years. For the first time in 2018 a training session was delivered to GP practice staff using a webinar.
Using a webinar to deliver the training allowed more staff to attend or view a recording of the training at a time convenient for them and significantly reduced expenses to both MOT and the practice.
The main outcomes were that using a webinar to deliver the training was overall rated as very good or excellent by most of those attending. There were 27 actions/improvements identified by the GP practices as a result of attending the training. This will ultimately lead to more efficient processes in the surgery and a better service to the patient.
