When the highly anticipated Re-Use of Medicines Framework was published by NHSE and DHSC it became apparent that many of the care homes had similar questions and queries regarding the safe and effective implementation of the framework.
From the start of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the MOCH teams across Sussex had worked together to ensure our care homes were supported during this difficult time. We shared resources and worked collaboratively in supporting each other with the ever changing and increasing workload we faced as MOCH teams.
It became clear that additional or supplementary guidance was needed by all of our care homes, and so it was decided that we would produce such a guidance in collaboration. This ensured that we covered all possible questions raised by the initial framework that was published. By working together we reduced the need to duplicate efforts in similar work-streams, and we were able to deliver our supplementary guidance with pace.
