The aim of this service is to support patients to make optimum use of their medicines by incentivising extra support from community pharmacists to engage patients and to promote the use of electronic repeat dispensing. It will also focus on improving communication between prescribers and community pharmacists, supporting the use of appropriate and mutually beneficial MURs (surgery and pharmacy) and will reduce the numbers of “out of hours” requests for repeat medicines with better synchronisation of medicines regimes.
