Most homes have an ordering process in place however they vary from home to home and each GP practice have a slightly different set up to deal with care homes prescriptions. Most community pharmacies have to chase up the prescriptions but they are not always involved from the start.
The idea was to develop a process that all care homes across the Medway area could adopt and would work for all parties involved.
